Why: A 16 year old boy was paralyzed from the neck down. He wanted to be able to flip pages in a book and be able to use an iPad.
How: I purchased a mouthpiece, an aluminum rod, and a stylus. I designed and 3D-printed a part to connect the rod to the mouthpiece. After assembling the components, I added a small amount of cotton to the stylus tip to ensure proper pressure during use.
Adjustments: The boy tested it and realized the rod should be a little shorter. So I adjusted size.
Result: The boy was very excited to use his new mouthpiece for reading books and iPad use.
